Better execution would be to use the same idea but connect it at the end of a longer collective lever, at the same fulcrum that the throttle is connected to.
It would take a hole punched in the side of the throttle, and an extension of the axle on which the throttle lever is connected, to the outside.
But even then most players position the throttle at a position that would be too high to use comfortably.
Mot aircraft have the collective at its lowest position level with your thigh for a reason.
